Here at the museum we are busy celebrating National Volunteer's Week by promoting the good work that our volunteers do, raising the profile of volunteering, and saying thank you to the amazing volunteers we have.

This second blog post focuses on our brand new Tea Room team led by The Friends of the Museum who are now running our new refreshment area in the Old Stable Block.  Everyone working in here is a volunteer and all profits are being fed back into future museum projects and events.  The new Tea Room has been developed as part of our Heritage Lottery Fund relaunch which has provided us with many more facilities and a better environment for our visitors.

It's a really exciting time for us at the museum to be able to offer our new tea room to our visitors, but also to be able to develop volunteering opportunities in the tea room.

Since opening on 26th March a strong team of volunteers has been established who are working to shape the tea room's future.  But we need more help!!! If you are interested in helping out in the tea room (particularly over the summer holidays) please contact our Volunteer Corodinator Rebecca Buck on rebecca.buck@erewash.gov.uk.

The Old Stables Tea Room currently opens on a Thursday and Saturday and Monday to Saturday during school holidays 11am to 3pm.
