Volunteer Debbi Mills
For the past few weeks local schools have been visiting the museum to learn about the First World War. Kensington Junior's Year 6 classes, Chaucer Infant's Year 2 classes and Years 3 and 4 from St Thomas Catholic Primary School all came and seemed to really enjoy the workshops. The children did a fact finding trail around the museum with plenty of horrible facts about life in the trenches (did you know that the tinned stew the soldiers ate was so disgusting they called it 'dog vomit'?). We also made poppies and wrote postcards from the trenches to loved ones back...
